Can I shape a mesh using an object?

I would like to shape a plane into a hill side by moving a ball and cylinder under and over the face. Making impressions with the objects.

Thx.

Good news; this is totally possible. The sphere and cylinder will need to be part of the same mesh (either joined with CTRL-J, or added while in Edit Mode). Then you’ll need to select the sphere/cylinder (select one vertex and CTRL-L to select all linked vertices), turn on Proportional Editing (O-key), and voila! Moving the sphere now affects the plane. You might need to change the proportional editing type, and work the mouse scroll-wheel to get precisely the effect you’re after.
