Can I use Blender to teach how to make 3D models for students?

To every one in this forum
How do you do?

I just entered as a new member in this forum.
I heard that Blender is free for every one to use.

I wonder about license to use.
If you do not mind, I want to ask you two questions:

  1. I have a plan to teach some students how to use Blender to make 3D models.
If I receive some tuition from students, Do I have to pay license?

  2. I also have a plan to make a document or book how to use Blender.
Do I also have to pay license?

I appreciate you for your reply.
Thank you in advance.

You don’t need to pay anything.

Take a look here for a more detailed explanation: http://www.blender.org/education-help/faq/gpl-for-artists/

Welcome here!

Blender is free/libre software.

Completely free to not just use but also to redistribute and even modify to suit your needs if you will. That’s genuinely free software, not ordinary proprietary free(spy)ware…

The sole problem would be if you teach in a industry bound school. Some will absolutely have to master Maya, C4D, Lightwave, or another when leaving school…

A good example of a Blender 3D training course, which you could use as a starting off point, is at:

@irakrakow

Hello, though it’s a usefull place, i think the http://www.gryllus.net/ website’s CSS could be re-arranged to have a right look for all browsers… Additionally, Flash is not “more neutral” than H.264. As we all know (and maybe disagree with it) Flash is no more such a panacea for web presentations neither.

Blender is the free open source 3D content creation suite, available for all major operating systems under the GNU General Public License.

To every one who replied to my questions

I really appreciate each of you for your reply.

I have been studying UT3 and UDK game engines, and I want to make my own 3D modelings.
If I have some questions, I will visit here and ask you about them.

Thank you again for your valuable replies.

Sincerely yours.

The only comment I would add is that it sounds like you are jumping the gun a little bit, planning to teach students and write a book on Blender if you are asking these kinds of questions.
