Can no longer move cameras in Blender at all

I just upgraded/installed Blender 3.2.0 today, and I don’t know how this happened but I can no longer move the cameras via the gizmo. This isn’t limited to any one file, this is just Blender in general. Even in new files, the cameras can’t be moved by the gizmo. If I try to grab the arrows with the mouse I just get the marquee selection thing.

If your translation gizmos are still visible, this solution probably isn’t helpful, but you might check to see if you have location transform locks enabled on accident.

If possible, please share a blend file for further inspection. Thanks!

1 ) It could be that some previously opened blend file’s saved settings are affecting your Blender globally. In which case you might try enabling the Load UI User Preferences setting to force Blender to use individual settings per blend.

2 ) You might also try resetting/restoring globally your Blender’s default setting with Load Factory Settings. If you don’t save a blend, the default settings won’t be restored, allowing you to experiment with default settings without any of them saving. You can even run Blender with the factory startup commandline script that should be in your root Blender folder.

  1. Select the highlighted Header → File → Defaults → Load Factory Settings
  2. Save any blend
  3. Close Blender

And then Blender should, “remember,” to load those default settings each startup there after.

By default when you open a .blend file Blender will load the UI settings of that file. So once you have reset factory settings, if you still have problems when opening certain files you could try unchecking the load UI settings.
The checkbox is in the “open file” dialogue’s windows “N” panel ( or “cog” Icon top left)

If all goes well when you save the file again it will now use/“remember” the factory UI settings.
