I have a 2014 Dell Optiplex 7010 that I have just recently dropped a Nvidia GTX 1050 ti into and after some headaches with the driver I managed to get blender 4.x to run on Plasma. For some reason pango in Gnome doesn’t render text so I had to switch to Plasma. Anyway, While blender runs I can only render at 25% if I render at 50% the whole system crashes. Does anyone know why this would be?
What are your other specs? Sounds like a hardware limitation, though hard to say without more info.
