I’m currently in the process of texturing my character, but I’ve hit a bit of a roadblock. I’m struggling to fully understand how UV unwrapping works. I get the general idea — that seams are like “cuts” which tell Blender how to lay out the 3D model onto a 2D texture — but I’m still confused about where exactly to place seams and how they affect the final UV layout.
Despite trying to follow tutorials, it still feels overwhelming and unintuitive to me. If anyone could explain it in simpler terms or give some tips on how to approach seam placement, I’d really appreciate it!
