Can this be done using blender?

Hi, please follow this link to a video clip that I want u to see. I was wondering if it would be possible to do the same using blender and python?

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

(The clip shows a virtual surgery with deformable tissue)

I think it could be done with blender. If you want to make a animation, it will be simple (use armatures or mesh deformations).

If you want to make it realtime, it must be harder. But I think it’s possible too (i think about an armature parented to the surgery instrument)

mmm interesting, will that work (parenting an armature to the instrument)?
Also , yes I need it to be realtime. Are there other ways to get the soft effect of deformable tissue?

Why so little replies, too difficult…?

No, I don’t think this is too hard to do.

Just the deformation stuff for the hearth might be a little hard.

For the operating equipment. I’m not sure how it works, so I’m just taking a guess here.

If you’ve seen mouse scripts aroudn the forum just use one of them. Instead of a plane for the cursor replace that with the operating equipment. When operation is performed maybe have an IPO animation for the scissor to move down and have the cutting part close and open with armatures.

There’s a lot of other stuff involved, but you could probably figure it out.

So yes you can do this. If you’re pretty good with the GE, I think this would be pretty easy. Well except for the heart deformation.
