Can you drag and drop materials?

Hey guys

Some other software like unreal engine for eg allow you to drag and drop materials onto objects and they are instantly applied.

Does Blender have any addons that do this please?

I understand how to UV unwrap etc but this would be way faster in some situations. Anyone know of anything please?

you can do it from outliner to an object in viewport
on wind 64

thanks so much for the reply, but not sure how you would do this? can you explain please?

pick a mat in outliner then drag and drop on object in viewport
when you pick you need to be over the round mat in outliner then it will show
a tips and it will then work
