Can you give me some advice for improving the shader and hair

Hello fellow blender artists,
I’m working on a model of a person. I’m pleased with the model itself, but my skills at texturing/shading is lacking. I have a pretty good color texture, but making skin look good requires those other textures (spec, normal, SSS).
I’m unaware how the process of making those other textures is done. For example, can the other textures be created from the color texture and look good? If anyone can give me advice or point me to a tutorial, I would be grateful.

Regarding the hair. I’m going for an underwater look, which means I’ll probably be fiddling with hair dynamics, scene gravity, and likely be using force fields to add some water current. The grease pencil is what I think would look good. I’m also noticing the hair will pass through the body, so I don’t know if that will be an issue. Perhaps I should use a low poly collision mesh?
If anyone has some advice on achieving the desired look, I would love to hear it.

Thank you for your time. :slightly_smiling_face:
