Now, I’m really hoping someone can guess who or what this is a model of…
This was one of the most fun models I’ve done yet, took me about 4 hours or so, plus I got some help with technical details from some of the regulars here.
So…
Sonix -> Thanks for the excellent advice on multiple materials on a model.
broken-> Your style of creating “Elemental” was inspiring, thanks for sending me the .blend.
SysAdm-> Excellent website! (www.centralsource.com), that’s where I got the Flame tutorial resposible for the eyes.
Now, on to the model, it was basically made possible by the new 2.3 tools such as knife and loop select. Great work by all developers involved, thanks!
Lastly, if you guys have some idea for the background (keeping in mind the context of the model), I’d love to hear them, I’m still knocking around some ideas, perhaps an ASIAN mountain range?
If you want snow, which I think would look cool with a mountain range, you can download a snow generator at michaels blends. The URL is in a thread in general something to the effect of ‘forum needed for special effects’ or something like that. It’s probably about 3 pages back by now.
Wicked. :o :o I think it’s a transmogrified Suzanne, but I’m not quite sure. The eyes/flames are superb and really fit in with the rest of the model. Textures are very good too.
Background… maybe flames right at the back of the image, with silhouettes of dancers in front. I’m intrigued to see what you choose though.
That is a fantastic model of Aku. Quite well done, indeed!
I’m really impressed with the fire (gotta link to that tutorial?), but I’d almost prefer a more fake fire like the one in the cartoon. Either way, great job man!
Yes. I liked the cartoon from the first time I saw it. I don’t get to see it now though without cable. Behind the Sword, the making of Samurai Jack is really fun to watch.
