Can you return to the Initial Creation information?

After creating a new mesh (or any object for that matter) a dialogue opens up in the Toolbox that gives various options for the creation of the object. For instance, when I create a UV Sphere I can change the number of segments, rings, and size.

Once I go to a different tool (like Grab) the current tool’s parameters take its place.

My question:
Is there a way to get back to this initial creation info, or is it only available once upon creation? If so, where is that info kept and how do I get to it?

In Maya for instance, that information remains available as part of the object’s history, and you can change it well after a primitives creation. Of course if you have edited the object’s vertices it can be wildly unpredictable, but it’s handy as I rough in a scene with primitives before going into editing them.

Working on Beta 2.56 on a Mac. Although, I’m pretty sure that it works that way for earlier 2.5 releases as well.

Thanks!

No you cannot

There was a person who made a patch that did this but the code was considered to be unstable and was not accepted into the official builds. It has been months since the conversation was had and I apologise that I do not have the source. Just wanted to say that someone had that working at one point, and like you say with Maya, Blender will probably complain if you try it after changing the topology a lot.

Bummer. Ah, well.

I will take Blender’s modifier stack over Maya’s history any day if this is the price. Just have to readjust my thinking and work flow a bit and all will be well.

Thanks for clarifying for me.
