Can you sell limited use 3d print model files?

Hey there customers are finding Shapeways expensive and I was wondering if there was a way to sell limited use 3d print model files?

ie is there a way where customers can download your file but only use it say once on their choice of 3d printer?

I guess I want to avoid people ripping off my file and giving it to anyone or selling it themselves?

I don’t think so, and even it was possible, I don’t think it would be a smart move since most of the prints you will print a few times, tweaking the settings before get a really good one.
