Thanks for looking!

The cannonball safe was seen in banks across America in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The cannonball safe gets its name from its shape and sturdy design, often weighing more than a ton and a half. They were referred to as “robber-proof” and displayed, elaborately decorated with elaborate paint and hand jeweling, in full view of bank patrons to instill trust and confidence that their money was safe.
