I have modeled this character, rigged it and created a walk cycle. I am now at the point where I want to add a follow curve modifier and cannot get it to line up properly and to follow the curve. I’ve tried to apply the modifier to the mesh and to the root bone, (not at the same time) and cannot get anything to work. I suspect that it has something to do with parenting?? Also would like some criticism on the model itself, construction, outliner, basically anything. Not quite sure if this needs to be on a different thread, if so, I will post that on a different topic. Thank you
Hi, you need to parent the rig to an empty and animate the empty along the curve. Also extend your walk cycle to match the distance. To reduce the sliding of the feet you will need to adjust the follow path keyframes to match.
(In my file the arms keyframes are not extended to the full animated path.)

Nice, Thank you!! I don’t usually post until I am literally ready to pull my hair out and I will end up eventually figuring something out, but I rebuilt this model about 5 times and ended up hitting the same brick wall. I love this site, every time I make a post I usually get an answer right away. Blender is my retirement hobby. My goal is to turn this character into a short film. Wish I would have started earlier.
Thanks again.
P.S. When an issue is solved are you supposed to indicate that? I would rather leave it open because from what I learned from this site is that one problem may have several “right answers”, but I will do what the rules dictate.
Its entirely up to you and even if you mark it as solved someone may come up with other options.
Just noticed that the keyframes interpolation for the empty follow path will need to be changed to liner.
