OK, this question is sooooo basic that it hurts to ask, but how do you save an animation in Blender? I’ve done it before but it was months ago and I forgot how I did it. It’s a simple thing that Blender manages to complicate.
There’s no “Save Animation” option in the file menu (the most logical place, right next to the “Save Image” option). Clicking the “Anim” button renders an animation but doesn’t save it (?) …I see the Output tab with all its fancy parameters, and I also noticed there is a “do sequence” button and a “do composite” button under the Anim tab, but these don’t seem to be it either.
I’ve just spent the last 2 hours Googling it unsuccessfully, managed to crash Blender once in the process, and still have no .avi files in my /tmp folder.
What gives? C’mon people, let me in on the big secret.
Hi,
The Anim button renders and saves your animation in the folder you specify in Output with the format you specify in Format.
Thank you so so so so much!
It’s working now. Yesterday I managed to produce an AVI file in the same manner but when I opened it in VLC Media Player it opened a tutorial video I had previously viewed, and not my animation, so I thought there was a problem with the file. Must have had the tutorial cued up or something.
