can't get movie to play in VSE

I know I am missing some little thing, but I can’t get the monitor area to show anything but a white sceen.
The movie and sound load as 2 strips and the sound plays alright but there is no movie, just white

Some video cards don’t diplay Blender VSE screen properly. No easy solution but you could try setting project/screen resolution to multiples of 512 pixels (both directions, x and y axis.).

I did that and it worked, But I’ll look for a better solution.
