on X64 openSUSE 10.2 default - 2.42 I believe.
I made an animation of png frames with xoas. I can load an individual frame into the texture, and it will render correctly. But I cant’ get the texture to progress through it’s movie when I render in blender. How can I do this? Thanks.
You set the image type to ‘sequence’ and the number of frames you want to use in the ‘frames:’ number box. There are some other options, but they’re pretty easy to figure out.
Thanks. But I can’t find the sequence button your speaking of, the only sequences UI artifacts, I know of is on the render page and the editor screen for importing to a strip.
I made a TV object and I want to use my fractal animation frames as the video feed on the model. I want to use it, the sequence of frames, as a material. I use to be able to do it but I’ve been away from the blender seen for about a version or two, so it’s changed out from under me. All I see on the texture screen is a movie button. But I thought that was for AVI files only?
I really need some more help?
You load a texture in your material for the screen, and select ‘image’ as the texture type. Load your series of png’s, and indicate ‘sequence’ in the image tab. From there, do what BlackBoe said, and it should work for you.

indicate ‘sequence’ in the image tab
Umbra is using 2.42, which as far as I can remember doesn’t allow loading of image sequences. I think you will have to use the Sequence Editor to convert your frames to a movie format (eg avi) to use as a texture. Better yet, download version 2.43 and follow the directions for loading up an image sequence given above.
