Can't isolate lights by layers

Hello, i have this scene where i’m trying to make 2 lights only affect the orange… i moved both the lights and the orange mesh to layer 2 and activated “Layer” in each of the lights.
But they still shine on the fabric… any ideas what might be causing this…

I downloaded the blend file and neither of the lights on layer 2 was set to Layer in the Lamp panel.

ohhhh… thanks a lot… i was looking at the “Layer” button in the Shadows tab instead of the one in the Lamp tab…
i’ll make note of that… thanks :slight_smile:
