Nice to find this place 
I am new to Blender and I intend to use it for video editing mainly. I keep on getting “could nto load video” on any video type I’m trying to load to the VSE. Ffmpeg + Gstreamer are up to date. (Openshot and other video editors I run work fine so I don’t think it is a codec issue)
Also when I go to properties and select from the preset HDTV 720 or any other setting, I dont see my codecs under “output” (I only see AVI RAW and AVI JPEG and frame server)
Any advice on how to solve this ?
