Can't Load Image

Having a problem with downloaded .blend files, in which the packed image files will not load.

When I click on the image texture node and check the properties (N menu), it shows the image source being the folder I downloaded the .blend file into, and beneath that it states “Can’t Load Image”.

The files came from Blend Swap and included no seperate image files in the download, so I’m fairly sure they are indeed supposed to be packed (it even has the previews and names of the images in the image library) - yet trying to unpack to files yields the error “No packed files to unpack”.

Any ideas what’s wrong?
