Can't load UI Presets in 2.59

It used to be that in order to get my setups in the new builds, I would simply open a file that had them, including the UI, and then save that as my defaults.

This isn’t working with 2.59. Is there some trick I am missing…? How cna I get my carefully constructed presets to come over to 2.59?

AFAIK every time you open a new Blender version for the first time you will be asked if you want to proceed with your old settings.

Perhaps you can uninstall Blender 2.59 and reinstall it after rebooting, before trying to hunt for some setup folders deep in the OS.
It’s just an idea because I never ran into problems upgrading Blender.

If you are talking about window- settings by importing a pre-2.59-file it is working on my system even for 2.4x-files.
However the links to fonts etc. are stored in a separate system folder.

I should have added that when I tried to export my settings from 2.56, the export failed and threw an error…

Loading the old file, even with the “LOAD UI” option selected, didn’t bring in any of the UI settings.

I finally just gave up and redid all of my settings. I didn’t see your trick of renaming the directory ManOfSteel… Iguess I’ll try that next time…
