Every time I try to render my animation it does a sequence render and it comes out as a black screen but the same length as what I am trying to render. here is my render settings any help will be greatly appreciated
Your output settings look fine, so I’m suspecting they are probably not the cause. If you change the file format to png and render as a sequence of images, does the problem still happen?
Yes, it is also rendering as a black screen?
Then the problem is clearly not in the output settings.
Do you have anything in the compositor? Maybe an unconnected node setup that replaces the render with black at the end of the process?
No, I have not used the compositor, it has been rendering images just fine until today when i tried to render a snippet of the full animation
Would you be willing to upload the file? If you don’t want to upload your project on the Internet, you can delete the objects and materials, I am mostly interested in seeing the settings.
Your render is failing because there is stuff in the video sequencer. Blender is trying to use that instead of the render.
Can I redirect it or how can I use the sounds without applying them to a speaker?
It was the meta strips I made, I can render normally now.
Maybe the meta strips were tricking Blender into thinking there was video data?
Anyway, I would have done the whole thing a bit different. The more standard workflow is to first render without sound to an image sequence. Then, bring this image sequence into a video editor, add the sounds there and then output the final video.
Rendering to an image sequence is considered better, as rendering directly to video has some potential problems. Imagine if you were doing a multi-hour render and there was one frame wrong in the middle of the animation. With an image sequence, you can correct that one image. With a video, you have messed up the whole thing.
