Imported STL files show up in the object menu, but I can’t see them? I’ve tried scaling it but it still won’t show up, im not really sure what else to try
Scale * 100 to get them to Blender standard size.
In the stl import browser window press n to open the side panel (just like the 3D window). In the browser window you will then have the import settings. Set Scale = 100, or possibly tick use scene scale. Then they should be visible right away on import.
Still nothing? Try looking up.
In my experience, STL’s import into Blender 100x too big, so it could be the opposite problem too. Try zooming out? With it selected in the outliner, you should be able to press ‘.’ on your numpad, which will center your viewport on the object.
Welcome …
select in the outliner and hit Numpad . or Menu: View → Frame Selected.
Just to add…
Because of the way STLs import …too small or too large when they come in too large they may be beyond your viewport clipping and disappear from view…you could always hit the HOME key to center everything in the center of your screen, also go out of perspective view to orthographic should allow it all to be seen, and then you can determine if you need to scale up or down, move STL back down to the world origin, reset screen clipping distance to a larger amount, etc.
