Can't set ipo handles

Today I’ve switched to the blender 2.48a and have run into an issue with the curve editor.
Before hand… was able to make curves with individual ipo types in edit mode.
For instance one section being bezier and another constant.

Now the only way it works, is if applied to the entire curve not in edit mode.

Something I am missing?

Aligorith has just added the feature to have parts of IPO curve independent type of interpolation into AnimSys2 branch of Blender. We just have to wait for fist Windows build. If you are on Linux you may already download it here:

Will look into the build you mentioned/

In the meantime, might just have to downgrade for a bit.
