Capadocia mountains

Hi there guys,

I was wondering how could I get the same highlights and contrast as the mountains in the rear to the one encased in the jar? The light is somehow behaving differently when its shining through glass jar.

I’ll appreciate your help.

You have a couple options here off the top of my head:

  • Put a lamp inside the the glass so it’s not being occluded by it
  • Put the glass and the mountain range on two separate render layers
  • Bake the lighting to a texture in the shot without the globe and then apply the texture for use after that
  • Play with the light paths node in your materials

It really kind of depends on what you’re trying to do with it.

Try disabling Shadow in Ray Visibility on the globe.
Object Properties -> Visibility -> Ray Visibility -> Shadow
Diffuse also appears to affect the color of the light, so play with those options and see if it helps.
