Capturing shadows cast ONLY from designated objects.

Cycles tutorials that show how to create material that only receive shadows also allow that material to shade and shadow itself (lets say the object is not flat but is a very 3d structure).

Cycles tuts that show how to create a shadeless material do indeed not shade nor shadow itself but also do not receive shadows from anything else!

What I am looking for is a bit of both - a material that will have no shading nor shadowing of itself, but will still capture shadows from something else.

Any ideas guys? Thanks.

I found that unticking ‘traceable’ in the material did what I wanted; the objects receiving shadow did not themselves cast shadow - perfect. However, for some people this might not be perfect as it stops the object appearing in reflections too. For me there was no need for reflection so it was perfect for my needs.
