Hello there. I have a butterfly door that I want to animate, but there are some restrictions. The door and window must be moving as one, but the window must be able to to roll up or down in its own Z axis. Problem is, if I make the window the child, the door a parent, it can move perfectly as I need it to. But when I try to roll the windows down, it does not move the way I need it to. Is there a way to make the window have its own independent axis? (Basically make the door and window have flawless animation) I know this is kind of hard to understand, so look at the pictures…
What am I supposed to use? Armatures? Constraints? Please help me. Thank you.
Nevermind, I found out how to do so with the use of Follow Path. xD
Hi,
There may be other ways of doing this, but my way of doing this would be to key the movement of the window first - prior to rotating the window.
Then, with it parented to the door, it will work properly when the door is rotated.
Hope that makes sense, trying to type this whilst on a conference call!
Thanks
Tricky
Thank you very much! I think your method is more flexible, with the IPO curves and all. :]
