does anyone know how i can get permission from car companies to use their cars in a game. Is it that i have to pay a percent in royalties or a flat fee, specified advertising, fixed rates. I don’t know where to look for this.

Contact car company, pay royalties, model the car to their exact specifications, submit the model to them, it’ll be carefully inspected and they’ll tell you if you can use it that way or not.

You’re better off modeling your own generic car, and if you’ll look for a generic paid car model, there’s only one usable out there in the net. It’s a series of cars from Dosch Design. I don’t really know of any other generic models with a quality level you could use in any commercial project.
