IIRC a car’s texture blurs reflections at far distances. so i tried to do that with a cloudy bump map but got more noisy instead
but before i jump to conclusions and go fixing a problem that i probably shouldn’t be fixing, what does a car material really look like? the car’s in the garage and it’s 11:00 so somebody refresh my mind as i pat my pillow.

after an hour, indigo seems to be yielding the results i wanted.
what do you guys use for plain car materials? just semi reflective with no bump map?
