Modelled with Blender
Material set with the Blender version provided by Lynx for Yafaray
Rendered with Yafaray 156
Illuminated with an HDRI only
Still some AA issues …
Well, I’m not going to say “omgz u r da best” just because your name is on every page of this forum, it is a pretty good model aside from some issues with the front of the hood, the front fender, the back of the door, and the fact that if you put a car in a gray room it typically does not reflect a village on a cloudy day.
Nice work, but I have to agree the reflected clouds do hinder it somewhat. Either a different hdri, or perhaps upping the fresnel value on the reflection to at least blot out some of the cloud reflection on the centre front of the car. It’s basically the focal point of the render, so it does hit you as ‘clouds indoors!’
why not render it in blender internal as well, give a comparison between yafray and internal :D. like "
Yafaray is getting better and better, here is the result with the available version. You may find more about Yafaray at the following links :" sounds like you’re trying to prove it. Though I guess it’d need lighting because bi doesn’t do lighting from only hdri, does it?.. anyway nice model, good render, and yeah the clouds make it look like pepto-bismol in some places, but whatever
edit: actually having said that it actually kind of looks like pepto-bismol got splashed on the car, but it still looks sweet
