Great job! Very satisfying

Thank you!

PS: The work doesn’t seem to look like just copy paste? Still happy with it?

you very welcome @dan_wipf

Glad you like it
no it’s no copy-paste at all as each part of the city is different from all others.
I makes the modeling much longer but offers much more realism to the visitor.

Time to spend is the price to pay for the 3D to be as close to reality as possible

next tower of the inner wall:

The Saint-Nazaire furnace tower…

I guess… there was a furnace in it ?
Surely not when this tower was built ! a tower is a defence building. But maybe later, when wars and fights had gone, was built in this tower a furnace for… maybe cooking bread ?

I sincerely got no idea but what am sure of is that it’s name isn’t for no reason

Hope you like it and happy blending !

Hey guys

Back there with some lil thingies…

1st of all i have to say that am happy
Thanks to @tricotou who gave me python help, i can import in unity ONLY the meshes that are modeled in a file, and not the linked objects !

Might sound stupid but it totally cleans all my unity3D imports and make my workflow much more fluid !

Here i come with also a new piece of architecture.
I guess everyone say: well it’s quite simple… Indeed it is but without any blueprint nor guide, it’s quite complex to stay as close to reality as possible

Here it is in clay render

Now it’s time for texturing…

Hope you like it

Next part of the wall:
A very well known citygate that is in real life somewhat deceiving: The Aude citygate.

It’s nothing more than a simple passage in the wall, guarded by other wall in the front.
Here’s a clay render:

Now it’s time for texturing

hi all

Here’s now the tower of justice:
A tower having 4 floors fed by a spinning staircase.

now i’m at 1 wall from the castle for the inner citywall.

hope you like it !

Latest part of the inner citywall towards the castle:
this little wall:

Now i go back to outer citywall and will finish it towards the castle…

I’ll start with the little Canizou tower

See you very soon and happy blending !

Here’s the next part:

The ‘little canizou tower’

I didn’t draw the inside rooms as this tower cannot be visited in real life, and therefor i don’t know the inside rooms organization. I’d say from the info i got, that it has 2 levels and mebe a 3rd one at the tower feet, that is an end pit accessed by an occulus.

hope you like it

hi all

Latest part is a citygate: The Senechal citygate.

It is located not far from the Aude citygate and for accessing the inner city, you have to walk through both those citygates…

here’s a render:

Hope you like it

Hi all

Next parts is a wall…

A quite simple one with stairs and a door that you don’t see here and that leads to… somewhere
I really don’t know where today…
Here it is.

it’s the link between the Senechal citygate and the Aude citygate defence walls…
This mart of the city is a kind of numerous and messy wall.
Then here’s one of them

hope you like it

Happy Blending !

… and here’s the next one… a wall among all the others…

It links the Aude citygate wall to the small chatelet ( it’s the google translation ) standing behind ( on the west ) of the castle…

I’m happy as i finished the outer and the inner citywalls…
This a kind of milestone for me.

now i will model all the things behind the castle ( i guess in a week it will be done as it’s mostly tortuous ( google translate ) walls…

And then i’ll model the castle… this BIG… VERY BIG piece of architecture…

Hope to see you there for watching

Happy blending !

INCOMING !!!

Am sincerely happy you like all this @dan_wipf
I you know some people who could love it, just telle them  I need what i do to be shown ^^

now here’s the next part. A beautifull but little one: The chatelet…
It’s tower in 47 in this map: Carcassonne
The Chatelet is located on the south-west of the castle and included in the western citywall…

In the past it was a major look-tower.
Here’s a render where you can see the famous cycles lightflies :stuck_out_tongue:
They don’t appear in unity, when moving around in realtime :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope you like it !
And hope that you talk about this around you

Thanks and happy blending !

talk to my kids about that

looking forward to the main “chateau”

ahah  The count castle will be the almost later part of the modeling and will be separated in towers/walls/buildings just like the entire city is.

It should start modeling it in 1 or 2 weeks  and as usual i’ll post the WIP here.

But for patience, here’s the latest par i made today: It’s a kind of barbicane between the long ramp to the huge barbicane ( wich don’t exist anymore ) and the castle entry from outide the citywalls…

Here’s the part i made:

And here’s the blender render with some sun light

Hope you like it

Happy blending !

Next part is a ‘simple’ wall assembly.

I’m this bored with it ( i knew this part would be difficult to model, keeping the ratios and aspects… ) that i can’t wait to show it here in clay render.

5 hours for 4 arches… :rage:

Ahah it would be fun i put the blend here for modelers to show me shorter time for same result !
No doubt i have to learn a lot for efficiently modeling things like arches ^^

then, here it is !!!

Now it’s time for a whisky and then texture the thing

Hope you like it !

Happy blending !
