I’m using blender for 3 days now and i decided to post a “kind of cartoon” project that i decided to do so i can complement the huge amount of tutorials i’ve been checking.
It’s probably not going to be a good thread for most of you, but C&C is greatly encouraged, thank you just for watching it to this point!
Ok, so i’m imagining a cartoonish sheep, or kind of goat, purely from my imagination, meaning i don’t have a draw to start from. I started with 3 basic shapes: the head, body and tail. Then i added some crazy eyes. I’m pretty happy 'till now, since (as i said) i’m only using Blender for 3 days now, and i never modeled anything but houses in AutoCAD.
I know it’s really amateur but…5 days with blender now
Anyway everyone’s seem to have a place in this forum, so i’m really not ashamed of posting my newbish creations.
And please don’t care for the lights, still having a though time with them and the camera :o
First of all thanks for the comments -[Killer]- you’re the first to say sth
Ok, so i droped the weird looking mouth and added some little horns and feet. I think i’ll try to change a bit of the position of the eyes, maybe rotate them a bit and see what comes out.
It’s rather interesting to see how proud i am of my little sheep…someday i’ll get to build a really good one
Dude those are some wierd looking eyes. Are they supposed to be eyelids? And you should modify those ‘horns’ so they are ears, they are poking out where the ears should poke out. You’ve got the right idea about the nostrils and mouth, though. They just need to be inse as opposed to poking out like they are. This means big hassle with cutting the rest of the face up so you can inset it. Or maybe you could texture it in instead. Are you going to texture it? I think it could do with little swirls on it like ‘sheep! in the big city’.
Hey mate, looks like a nice start. For the eyes, I would recommend this really cool tutorial, which I followed when I made my first character, it’s quite easy and you can add the eyes to any head if you position them right. http://calvin.sdlfk.org/calvin/CartoonEyes2/
