The second of three projects I made a couple years ago(release 2.93) to
research Blender Cycles and Compositor.
In this case I wanted to get more-less “fotorealistic” winter atmosphere in combination with ShaderEditor-Cycles-Compositor using kitbash from prev project(based on Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk and Archeon Museum Park both situated in the Netherlands).
I believed that snow would be a “big problem” for me but separated Z-channel and ColorRamp solved the problem in “no time”. As usual - the final image from Blender Compositor.
I use compositor only for postFX(color correction, lens distortion, abberation, grain and etc.).
At that moment I wasn’t a very experienced user in Blender and thought that it would be very difficult to cover everything with snow(using Shader Editor). I had to create a couple of masks in Shader Editor due to cover trees with snow texture more/less believably.
