Cell Fracture tool always divides the object into 8 pieces

I just installed the tool because I was going to use it for my glass-shattering animation.
But when I actually tried to use it, no matter the setting or the number in the source limit, it always divides the object into 8 pieces. I don’t know how to fix this…

I just created an account for this problem, but since new users can’t post attachments, I’ll just share that I was meant to divide it into a hundred pieces, and the glass is 0.1 meters thick. Can someone help me? qwq

You might increase the Noise value for this subdivision in the Cell Fracture dialog…

I did that already, but it doesn’t divide the pieces into 100… (it still divides by 8)

Hmm… you might show your settings (Mine is in 3.6…) ?? Or even share a file… so someone else can have a look too ?? Maybe using Random insted of Small or Big… ?

you have to add a particle system to use the own particles mode effectively.

Add a particle system with 100 particles:

Then the cell fracture tool should work as expected:

The way you destroy objects can change shape with optional settings.

I think it depends on the edge configuration of the basic objet.
I set 100 for the test.

It appears to be the number of objects that can be created between each vertex from the entered value.

Ok, take your object and draw on it using the annotation tool, set to surface mode:
