Hey

is it possible to apply the addon : cell fracture only in a region of a mesh ?

I would like to split only part of the same mesh preserving the orientation of the material’s procedural maps?

another doubt:

is it possible to split a mesh by choosing a procedural map of my choice as the clipping area?

Not sure but you can always separate part of mesh and use addon with this separated part.

I agree with 3dnotguru. Other options:

  1. use the Cell Fracture on your object and set the Source Limit to 2. Then you will have two cells. Then just cell fracture one of those meshes.
  2. Select the pieces which you want to keep as one piece and join them back together.
