This is my current WIP, it’s a chinook helicopter. Been working on it for roughly 2 days. Still a noob to blender, been using for maybe a month now, I’m not sure though, cause I quit a couple times because i had no idea what to make. This is a very early render and it’s just the process I’ve made so far. I am trying to find a way to make the cockpit so if you can englighten me please do so.
Hey there, I like the idea. Those Chinooks are very cool heli’s to see fly.
As for your model: Well, the best place to start for giving advice will probably be to request that you follow my signature.
Keep working at this!
Thinking about giving up on this project and starting again from scratch, this time making it more simple. That is of course unless you can give me help on the overall helicopter. I’ve tried modeling the cockpit and so far eveything I try makes it look like s***… But yea anywyas heres a pic in edit mode

WEll i started over with this chinook. This new version has been coming along nicely. I’ve made it simpler and learned from mistakes i made with the other chinook. Any help on pointing out mistakes on the chinook i made are welcomed, as they will help me out with this new one
This is the back side of the chinook i started working on (the new one). Thining about wyas of making a nice cockpit… but can’t really think of a way to make one. I gues I’ll really have to worry about it once i get to that point. Anywyas C&C are welcomed

First thing I recommend is to eliminate the triangle polygons in your model.
With a static mesh (like your hull) it might not be that big of a deal, but to maintain a clean texture friendly mesh using subsurf you are going to want to stick with four-sided polygons (quads).
It’s not very clear to me what is holding you up for modelling the cockpit.
This is just another update. Added a cockpit. Of course im still going to have to make the windows there. BUt this is just my progress so far

Haven’t really worked on the chinook for a while now, haven’t really had the motivation to or the time. Just added a bit of stuff to the chinook.

Gave up this project but this is how i finished it. It was mostly a learning experience for me. So i think it did the job of teaching me different things with blender which i will probably be using on more serious projects. So look out for helicopters i might attempt at modeling. im thinking of working on a apache or somethign liek that soon. Or maybe make my own designs

Hey, good work, maybe add a little more light so that we can see it better. There’s a lot of tutorials about glass, just google and ye will find.
