“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week and will be featured in the Feature Row.”
As long as your brain didn’t melt in hot plasma you’ll probably be fine. And even if it did melt a little, you’ll probably still be able to land (an entry).
Uuh, I finally figured out, how to follow a surface with my tree-building geometry node (see its first appearence in my cursed entry). And even make it thinner towards the twigs:
Pure, EEVEE render engine, Blender 4.0.2
Tree models, rock, and terrain texture by Polyhaven, ferns and grass by Graswald, original deer models from Sketchfab.
It’s a fantasy garden trail, so I’m pretty sure it belongs here.
Definitely not one of my best projects, and not created in my usual realistic style, but I’m pleased enough with it.
BTW: I created three other scenes before this one, I was so worried about what to make! Congrats to whoever wins, you deserve it!!
Very cool. I have been thinking of attempting something like this in geometry nodes myself. It seemed truly non trivial though which made me avoid the subject. Awesome work! It would be really interesting to know how you did it.
