Pure Entry (PP of title)

Eee… guys… what’s a placeholder?

A placeholder is when a certain position is held for you to use in the future.
And Prince, I doubt you’re going to win this one, while you and all the others are still looking for an idea, i’m already well into my entry. 8)

You don’t ask what a place holder is you just go along and use one

                                   PLACEHOLDER

Is yafray alowed in pure entries?

Entry is pure.

Yes, as long as you render from Blender.

Sometimes Microsoft Word’s fancy custom macro system can be used to hold viruses… here comes a nasty, slimy Word macro now…

I don’t care if you have to increase your monitor brightness. It serves you right for running it so low.

You are quick Usagi

Are you alowed in a pure entry to use an image editing application to brighten areas of the image?

clicky for bigger version.

beware: above images may change as deadline approches

pure blender, minor postpro.

Are you alowed in a pure entry to use an image editing application to brighten areas of the image?

I think you can, but to be on the safe side
read this https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1547
it is the rules

On second thought remove my placeholder, it seems my entry had so many small components in such high quantities that it wouldn’t be able to fully render in the allotted time frame :frowning:

But hopefully when I get a much more powerful comp i’ll get it fully rendered with good lighting (not simple as I did for the hopeful entry) and put it up on my album at mudpuddle.

It was supposed to be the ENIAC computer and how big it would’ve been if it had to be as powerful as today’s computers. And even had humor like a blobby boy made with metaballs holding a map of the facility the computer was in with a floating question mark.
Well, i’ll be gone for a few days and will be back by voting, so now I have to turn off the comp. Over and out.

Macro adj Greek for BIG so heres my entry. Its only a quickie (5mins). ohh and i dont know how he got there in the first place (:

[EDIT] I just realised, why would someone trapped under a column be smiling?[/EDIT]

I may as well be in, I’ll see if I can whip something up.

EDIT: I just realised I won’t be able to compete. Sorry. :< :frowning:

Well… double or nothing, here it goes

[sixe=20] UPDATED [/size]

Well, I’m pleased that you’re all jumping on this topic. I’m moving into a new house, so despite not being able to participate, I wouldn’t have time to anyway. I’ve been doing macro photography for years, and so of course my interpretation was more of the “extreme closeup” variety, but I chose the topic because of the extreme flexibility. Glad you’re having fun.

Good luck to all participants!

EDIT_ had to withdraw, sorry. Good luck to everyone. Hope to see lots of DOF.

Sonix.

Hi,
This is my first post, render, and contest. I got Blender about 5 days ago and I’ve never used a 3D program before ever…be nice.

Title: Broken Lens
Today I started making some weird alien-type landscape. But I was reading the thread by GCat about the Fresnel settings and it gave me a great idea to try and make some sort of fish-eye or macro lense to put in front of the camera. So the inset is the original shot I set up, with the main picture being the one to consider for the contest with the weird lens in front of the camera. Nothing else was changed, just a layer with a weird lense was added.
Pure, minus the texture for the mountains in the background is a satelite photo of New Zealand I downloaded from somewhere and I used photoshop to inset the original shot. Plus I totally owe GCat something for giving me the idea to make a lense.
Thanks,
Tim
