After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared: The voting will close on: Wed, Jan 29, 2025 11:00 PM.
The winner picks the theme for next week.

If the winner doesn’t supply a theme before Thursday 22:30 GMT, the organizer will select the theme. In this case, the winner’s theme will be used the next time we are lacking a theme on Thursday 22:30 GMT.

Having selected the theme, the winner will not be eligible to enter that week. They may however still submit an image, but it won’t be included in the voting.

Pure Entries

PMDesigns: Orking Overtime

codecontemplator: Life after death

fcharr: The Sun Rising on a Grateful World

lkmu: End is a new beginning!

arewedreaming: beyondjourneysend

Isengard42: A Warm Bed

Open Entries

QR16: Jane’s new journey

(I created the figure in Blender for another project. The environment was created in Blender 4.3 for the challenge. I was not able to achieve the wispy look I wanted for the ghostly figure rising from the ground in Blender so I rendered the scene and figure separately and composited them in GIMP using Gaussian blur and opacity.)

Non-competing Entries

Trentle: Return To Humble Beginnings

Helge: End Titles Character

A lot of AI slipping trough the cracks these days. I thought this challenges are a bit of fun, but I think using an AI PNG is unfair on the people who actually take time to model stuff

I try to keep an eye on the use of generative AI in these challenges. This time, however, I didn’t notice anything suspicious.
If I’ve missed something, just let me know and I’ll take a closer look.

And… the winner of Weekend Challenge 1127 with votes from 52.4% of the voters is… PMDesigns!
As we have a tie between entries (PMDesigns, codecontemplator), the earliest submitted entry wins.

Here’s to all the great participators…

Wanna know a secret? The new theme is right here:

I may be naive but I have not had the feeling that ai images are being submitted so I am surprised about that. :hushed:

If anyone have doubts about my entry I made the blender file available here: scene-journey-10-packed.blend

And congratulations to you, @codecontemplator fellow victor!

Maybe posting viewport renders is a good idea!

As far as I can tell, it really hasn’t happened very often.

Sound’s good to me.

Almost afraid to ask but did you have Suzanne in the background all the time? :open_mouth: Did I miss a joke here? In order of disappearance…

Of course! She was always there, lurking in the shadows. If you play with brightness and contrast, you can still find her in the final render. (The kids insisted on adding a monkey, so we did. )
