“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week and will be featured in the Feature Row.”
Another quick open entry. Made in blender 4.3 cycles. Got the skull and the soil from two very old entries: This was before the principal shader was added to blender, crazy node work.
Title: Piece Of Broken Chain Turns Into Little Humanoid And Then Tries To Go Back To Golden Chain But Wont Make It Because He Tries To Grab A Small Thin Vine Which Wont Support His Weight Because He Is Made Of Metal RIP
Pure. Character’s head modeled in Blender 4.3. ‘Poster’ created in grease pencil. Glass door and windows created in Blender and the building interior is a stock photo.
I’m sorry , I think I’ll put in some more effort today to at least acknowledge it. I don’t think it would be wrong, after all, they say ‘steal like an artist’ or something like that. My initial thought was way too complicated—a derailment with trains, mountains, ravines, tracks, and everything—but that got too overwhelming for me.
Pure entry. Everything made in Blender, only procedural textures.
Once upon a time, a human ancestor tossed some sausage links into a frying pan to prepare their breakfast. The sausages wanted to escape, but they had nowhere to go. In a sense, they were toast!
It was then that Sausage Link came to the rescue. With a chain, he tried to provide a link to the outside world, but the chain was missing some links, and so Link had to improvise.
"Where are my sausage links?" said the human ancestor, as they went back to the kitchen. Seeing the pointy hat outside, they shouted with all their breath “SAUSAGE LIIINK!” and ran outside to chase our hero.
And Sausage Link has been missing ever since…
So, is there any meaning of “missing link” which I forgot?
The fact that you tossed a human ancestor to your story makes me think that you haven’t forgotten anything I myself fancied taking the whole link thing to mean other things. I’m surprised that no one has pulled a Zelda entry.
Todays feature: the gums around the teeth are(?) lifted using a proximity node in GeoNodes.
And I really like the (kind of) new multi-detail vorony texture! Waited years for it. I used it for the little blood vessels of the skin:
If anybody has a good recipe for a felt texture, just let me know. My attempt with the vorony texture looked awful, and the hair particles provided their own challenge: getting them tangential is not easy.
Nice one! That is very much the direction I was hoping for.
And I see: a little sub surface scattering for the special touch. Although this gives me a little bit the vibes of glass fiber reinforced plastic, you know?
