After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared: The voting will close on: Wed, Nov 12, 2025 11:00 PM.
The winner picks the theme for next week.

If the winner doesn’t supply a theme before Thursday 22:30 GMT, the organizer will select the theme. In this case, the winner’s theme will be used the next time we are lacking a theme on Thursday 22:30 GMT.

Having selected the theme, the winner will not be eligible to enter that week. They may however still submit an image, but it won’t be included in the voting.

Pure Entries

Withers99: Christmas Rain

(I made the tree using the Sapling Tree Gen addon (https://extensions.blender.org/add-ons/sapling-tree-gen/), the baubles are a simple sphere with a plane for the string, I modelled the baubles in a separate file and appended them to the main file.)

3dnotguru: rain man

SoloSwordStudio: Lighthouse on a rainy night

fcharr: Rainbow in the Dark

codecontemplator: Where Kindness Pools

(HDRI from blenderkit)

Daniel_Peace: Rainy Window

(pure except for one downloaded texture)

Darkphoton: A rainy life…

(HDRIs and concrete materials from blenderkit. silhouettes are images on planes.)

Denis63: Another rainy window.

(Rain simulation on a 3D window: Shader (rain on the glass) + Geometry nodes (rain in front of the camera). Blender 4.5 Cycles. The interior of the room is just a projected image.)

Open Entries

revolt_randy: Singing in the Rain

(Character I downloaded, hat & plant from other projects. Everything else is new.)

md2000: Stroll

(That’s the character I created last week intended for the Tech contest, but couldn’t get him to cooperate in animation. Still not cooperating, although I did get the rain to happen.)

Non-competing Entries

Jean-Luc: Rain

Helge: Why Does It Always Rain on Me?

Tachtian: Old Temple in the Rain.

very nice win. You could remove the characters and it would still be a great image. The rain was very well handled.
loved withers99 tree and a superb umbrella from fchar too.

Thank you @Jean-Luc, I am happy how the tree turned out, I think the rain could be a bit better. But I am pleased with it for my first time using a particle system.

a good way to do that would be to stretch the ‘rain’ drop vertically and then angle it slightly so it looks like codecontemplators

I will give that a try later today, I am on my laptop right now not my desktop. I haven’t used Blender on my laptop for a while, I am not sure if it can still handle Blender…

Call to action! The next challenge is open:

It was great fun to see all of the simulations that various people did. And, like always, the many very-different ways that people decided to approach the same subject. The trouble is that there can only be “one” winner.
