Please remember to state if your entry is pure, open or non-competing.
“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week and will be featured in the Feature Row.”
@Helge, I started working on an entry for last week’s theme, but never had time to finish it. If I used my bug model as part of this week’s entry, would that be open or pure?
There would be mainly new assets, but there would be the bug asset that I made on Monday.
In general, any model created before the new theme was published is considered an “old” or “reused” asset. Whether this affects the classification of the new post as “pure” or “open” depends on the importance of the old asset. If it is just a minor element among many new models, I would leave the entry in the “pure” category. If the asset is the star of the show, I would go “open.”
Hi there,
Welcome to Blender Artists, and welcome to the weekend challenge . I really hope you enjoy both the site as a whole and the weekend challenge.
That song is one inspiration for the image. I was not really a fan of System of a Down as a teenager, but some of their songs have strong lyrics. For a long time, I wanted to make a picture based on the idea of a sad Statue of Liberty, and this week’s challenge seemed like the best time for it.
At least it did last Thursday, July 2. On Saturday, when I read the news, I realized this weekend was the best of times and it was the worst of times for this. So I guess happy Independence Day to the people in the USA!
