Eek. I hope we don’t see too many grey cubes on a bluish background.
Calculus… so easy, a caveman could do it.

Okay, so I know I ripped the whole “cavemen are smart” idea off of geico, but I really do have a math professor who looks almost exactly like this.
zoel, i hope he doesn’t wear an animal skin to class
anyway, possible placeholder
Blender, so easy…
Pure Blender 2.43 render, no post processing. No AO or raytracing used. No standard toon edge used. No nodes used for toon edges.

I am posting this half-finished because I don’t dare tempt myself to spend any more time on it this weekend; I still have to do my taxes.
Also, there’s something wrong with my .blend file (here, 6.7mb); when I try to use proportional editing on an object, it seems to also grab some weird mystery vertices positioned out near infinity…
Anyway, here’s my entry, which is, by the way, my first weekend challenge entry ever:

sarah: Yeah. There’s definitely something fishy going on with PET on your .blend. I tried it on my recent CVS build on Ubuntu. I think you should add the issue to the bug tracker (http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?group_id=9) for the mesh guys to check out.
Prehistoric 3D
Based on a sprite from the old game “Prehistoric” for DOS.
Cubes only and lots of free time
Thanks, I’m glad it wasn’t just me!
I’ll add it to the bug tracker after I do my stupid taxes… ![]()
Do you think i could put in a badly modelled dragon and get away with it?
I’ve just fixed it, no need to add it to the tracker.
It’s a problem with PET with connectivity, face select mode, individual centers and, to a lesser extent, sphere falloff. Except for the falloff, all the other conditions are required for the bug to appear, so if you change any of them, it will stop manifesting itself in your file.

Wow, now that’s great customer service! ![]()
Thank you so much!

My entry has been updated (rerendered at highest OSA, saved with lower jpeg compression, background cave nudged to the left).

So I was strolling in the mountains this weekend, minding my own business, when BAM I fell into this cave! This was not your ordinary cave as it was the secret location of the blender world cup! Further to my findings, I saw that the blender mods have put and old cave drawing from prehistoric times with the cup, showing that even before our time the caveman has been blending away for a very long time…

The Spark that brought us Fire
Fire, it’s so easy to master that even our prehistoric ancestors were able to.
