Challenge #296 (07/11/08) CLOSED

Theme #296 for 11 July 2008 is: Pulp Fiction

Entry closes at 2100 GMT -5 Monday, 14 July 2008.

“PULP FICTION Volume 2 Cover Art”

Pure in Blender 2.46, postprocessing made in GIMP 2.4.4 (brightness, some text, RGB noise). I made it quick, so I can have more time for my BWC 2008 entry ;).

Note: The guy on the picture is not John Travolta :).

For those that don’t know the term pulp fiction referred to cheap thriller magazines and paperback novels going as far back as the 1920’s. Many had interesting cover art, which would be fun to reproduce in 3D. That is, if anyone wants to take a none “Pulp Fiction” movie slant to this topic.

BTW great topic.

Thanks, Matt. I personally havent know that it has other meaning. This opens new possibilities :).

Consider me IN

This is my first time using blender in over a year. Weekend challenges should be a good way to relearn the basics. Here’s my entry, a collection of pulp magazines, pure blender: http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/3694/atticvl3.jpg

Ooh, I have an idea for this.

Well I looked around and found the cover… and made the thing.

A pure blender entry.
