Does this have anything to do with the floods down here in Brisbane and other parts of Australia? The cleanup is well underway now, with lots of water damage;)
looks fun.

Hello everyone Here’s my entry.

The concept behind the image comes from the book of Genesis where, after the Great Flood, God promises to never again destroy the earth with water and puts the rainbow in the sky to remind us.
Happy Blending everyone

Hey, long time no see bogey! Very nice. If you don’t mind sharing, how did you do the ships wake?
Amazing image Robo!
great entries guys, mine’s no where near as good.
I lacked inspiration so i did the painfully obvious thing and pointed the fluid simulator at something.
Casio, it looks good to me! Very pleasing to the eye.
Hi HELIX, its a long term project Ive been working on. Gradually adding more detail to the model. Just broke the million vert barrier. Every now and then I bung it in Virtual Sailor to see how its doing, so this is just a screen grab.
Amazing image Robo! Seconded
ps, Ive thrown a quick one together, and hopefully will have time to get it looking presentable before monday.
Wow, great entries this weekend all. I’m secretly glad I couldn’t enter.
Also I don’t have a lot of time this weekend due to the demands of the children.
washout:
Hey Folks.
Here’s my entry for this week.
Erosion
Pure 2.49b
I spent about 5 hours on this, I decided to try and play around with the atmosphere settings on the sun lamp to give it a sense of scale and I think it worked out okay.
I was trying to think of what was the biggest example of water damage in the world and I came up with the grand canyon, so that’s what inspired this image.
I’m not really happy with the water but as usual I ran out of time to do any more work on it, so I’ll submit it as it is.
Nice images from everybody so far, keep up the good work and good luck.
Awesome! Nice job on the tree and lighting. If anything though i find it weird that the water is opaque, not translucent.
Cheers for the comment.
Like I said, had I had more time I would have done more with the water. It’s meant to look quite murky but I agree that it’s a little too opaque. It’s just a plane with ray-mirror and procedurals, if I could have worked on it some more I would have multi-layered it with alpha and translucency effects.
As for the tree I can’t really take any credit there, it’s an alpha mapped texture applied to a plane. In my defense I did try using the tree generator script before I resorted to a texture but for some reason I couldn’t get the leaves to render, and to be honest my tree efforts were pretty poor before the leaves were generated anyway! Something to try again on another weekend challenge I feel.

its beeen a busy week but everyones entries look soo much better
didnt really bother with textures
This is a PURE entry.
Absolutely everything was done in Blender right down to the urine stain on his overalls which was done using texture paint.
Unfortunately I ran out of time again this weekend so I wasn’t able to texture the way that I would have liked to. I ran into a few problems with the Blender 2.5 which held me up quite a bit, but once I started to figure things out I found that it is really amazing.
Oops, sorry about that, I accidently uploaded two pictures and I’m not sure how to delete the one I don’t want.
I wouldn’t wet your pants about the two pictures… I actually prefer the firs one! Even though there is some amazing entries so far, I think you’ll be getting my vote!
