While technically not a moment from a real film, we can all agree that whatever film these two parties met in would be epic, so it would be a great moment in film. The NCC-1701 model is by Bill Thomas. The Death Star is from SciFi3D.com.

OMG rarebit you got my vote!

hairok: Cool image! I never saw it though
hatchnet: I’m really feeling the lack of fancy script. Maybe a quick cursive print to UV map would help?
HELIX: WOW! YOU did that in a weekend?
JH819: Sorry for stealing it, nice job with the Silence. You should have just outdone mine. I was hoping someone might.
peter18: Good and quick!
me: Should have done a better job with the background.
ridix: Nice idea AND great implementation! Making a support for the glasses would help. Nice touch with the cloth materials. Did you use Cycles perhaps?
sajtafari: Where’s the final draft!? A loopcut on the pills could have helped make them more pill like. Also, nice touch with the pizza ; )
TWS admin: EVE!
samcam: Haha, nice!
rarebit: …! little disturbing but good modeling/texturing/lighting/dof

Thanks for welcoming me! I hope to do more weeks in the future!

Were there rules that I missed (I read the sticky)? Perhaps no UV mapping/background images? I would have used a background image in mine, but I decided UV mapping was already too much. The background really needed it though.

What is an acceptable/unacceptable use of images for these competitions? (Was my UV mapping of the TARDIS an acceptable use of imagery?) Also, what do you guys think about using things like arbaro?

Is that out of fear?
(!Thanks!)

*** EDIT, just realised my entry is the video…

You and me both mate, I’m currently preoccupied with the military vehicle comp thing so I just stuck a quicky in as a matter of principle

@quantumfractal, welcome! And thanks for the comments. Your entry made me think of watching in my childhood…I won’t say which Doctor it was at the time  And yes, I made that, from scratch, using nothing but Blender, MYSELF, this weekend. Just modeling, lighting, and texture painting (for the red in the scars.)

I use basically the technique in this tutorial. (part 1) Someone sent it to me a while back and it helped me a lot, so maybe it will benefit some others, who haven’t seen it yet, as much as it benefited me.

@ridix, Homer reloaded gave me a good laugh

Nice work everyone!

I’ve had to vote for AMDBCG, mainly because he cheated going for that image … but it is the image which was the biggest influence on my life…

@ridix, can we see Marge in a sexy skin tight rubber suit this week please… I need a new pinup for my wall! Oooh, can you imagine, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, DOH!

Aww thanks, Rarebit. Luxo Jr. was my inspiration as well.

Congrats AMDBCG! I’m glad you reminded us all of that moment in particular.

Yay! thanks for the votes
