It doesn’t really follow with the high tech weapons that everyone else seems to be making. I decided to make up a few bladed weapons becasue they’re cool. I based the first one on Kilik’s weapon in Soul Calibur and made the rest up after that. So there you have it. http://www.stormpages.com/blendedgoo/weapon.html
Zenitor
this has been a learning experience, I didn’t know how to make a spring, like all things blender easy and logical once you know how, also learnt particles, and shadows… still got a lot to learn but really starting to have fun now:)
Idgas
ok Here is my entry. I would apoligize for the sillyness of the picture but I think it actually ended up kinda cool looking. It was my daughters idea. She is 4 years old. http://idgas.50megs.com/images/ketchup.jpg

i can do better but i dont have da time, so i just animate it with cell shaded fx by blender
All the modeling, texturing, animating and rendering was purely done in blender by me
i voted for zenitor, because i liked the look of the pic. It could use a little bit of an environment, but it was enough to snag my vote. Since i’ve got a bit of time, i’ll give a bit of constructive criticism.
Goo: i liked your pic. What kinda threw me off was the toonshading, although it was good how you combined the toon weapons with the realistic background.
Gr8RedShark: like the idea, but obviously you didn’t get enough time to finish it. Could use something to attach it to things, or a handle, etc. The flame is slightly leaking out the tube. I like the joints or whatever you call them on the blades, but you could use some pistons/pipes or something so it looks like they could actually move. Maybe add some shadows and more textures.
Idgas: i love the chrome! This pic is really nice looking, and i almost voted for it. Can’t really pic anything wrong with it, just a little bit simple. Really nice work.
ada89: You changed your pic from an animation to the still pic, didn’t you? That kinda confused me. That big blue halo looks off, it needs to glow more or something. Nothing should be that big and be one constant colour. Could use a little better lighting setup, but the models were good.
There we go. Hopefully i didn’t piss anyone off. I was just trying to be helpful, after all.
Good luck to everyone.
I gave my vote to Zenitor, 'cause I really like the “Buck Rogers” pulp feel that pulse rifle has.
But anyhow, exellent work, everyone.
GOO: Very nice blades you got there. The textures are look exelent.
Gr8RedShark: Too bad you did not have time to give your weapon the final stroke. It looks good tough, maybe you shuold indolt us and finish it at the projects forums?
IDGAS: Nothing silly about your gun, maybe world would be better place if we would have ketchup shooters instead.
ADA89: Your model looks good, but there was something in the blue glow I did not like. Don’t know why.
me 2 actualy but i dont have the time to change it cause of the challenge was close, u all beat me guys…cause i am just a kid …i will try harder next time
wow 9= atm, thanks everyone for the encouragement,
I think these weekend competitions are excellent to motive and focus learners and old hands alike, I will definatly be entering as manys as time allows,
very cool concept, that katchup gun, label and bottle/holder especially cool, kinda looks surgical with the chrome finish, which could have been a drawback imho.
All participants should be happy with their entries, ada89 if your just a kid your very lucky, you’re learning with excellent tools and that animation was cleverly done, Goo, I kept looking in the floor reflection expecting to see a mutant turtle just out of camera,
I decided to give my vote to Zenitor. Great work everyone. I wish I had more time to enter these WC’s more often, but school’s taking all my time. But when the summer holidays begin…
