Congratulations StealthRox! You really captured the evil face of uncomfortable weather. And looking out my window “Rain Rain Go Away” seems very fitting
@eppo
Nice helicopter! But how did the pilot manage to fit a fat pig into a desk?
@Staccato
I don’t know why those sheep remind me of Gremlins, but I like them a lot! That one got my vote;)
Do you still plan to finish this one?
@RobertT
Nice one - as always:) Do you mind me asking how you did the little sparks on the waters surface? Are those particles?
Let’s hope next weeks contest will not suffer from misguided script kiddies
Thanks, Helge! Those sparkles are all scaled-down / transformed / subsurfed cubes which were duplicated within a single mesh. They have a high Emit value, and they are partly reflected by the water.
Thx a lot for your vote and your comment. I was not thinking on Gremlins when I decided the aspect of the sheep, but now that you point at it, the big round eyes and pinkish skin make them certainly “gremlinesque”.
And yes, I felt so dumb when I noticed the modeling issues once the render was complete that I wanna redo the image from scratch once I finish some other illustrations I´m workin on.
Thanks Helge!! It was raining outside when i was setting up the scene… and i really felt it and thanks for the Rain too… for getting me zero down on it…
@RobertT
I don’t know why, but I really didn’t think of reflections. That is a brilliant effect on the water.
@Staccato
Nice to hear that you are still planning finish this one. I think most weekend contest entries aren’t so lucky once the weekend is over
@StealthRox
This weekend I noticed that rain can be a fun thing to do with blender/cycles. And that setting up the focus of the camera can be dangerous in such scene (if you are in a hurry and need to go with a low sample count…)
