I didn’t know that word, I had to Google it. Nice choice.

… what…?

fancy word for giant

Recently popularised by:

So it can be a giant candy or enormous explosion or huge truck at example(s)?

or an actual giant

Given the definition of Brobdingnagian: marked by tremendous size, or a size disproportionate to it’s actual needs, Here is my entry:

It is a pure entry.

Psychoboy - aka me killing half an hour in blender, take extra note to the megalazerübermissile

oh and I only killed half an hour in blender to make it a fair competition, we can’t have a one entry-competition, can we?

Sometimes the point of view is more important than you think

Hey everyone I hope you like my image. I would love to spend more time on it but I think it turned out okey
It is a pure entry made in cycles with 150 samples.

What’s in the box?

Cycles and a wee bit of photoshop post.

Stairway of the Colossus

Pure entry rendered with Blender Internal.

Here is my entry:

Modeled in Blender, rendered with LuxRender on 7970, 3 mins.

My quicky entry, pure:
improbable giant

I was trying to give some comic style but i have yet a lot to learn about organic modeling…

Here’s my pure entry. I call it the Anthills of Giza. Tried to make the hills large from the perspective of the ant but it’s a rush job.

Here is my non-competing entry:

(a “gas giant” planet)

Pure Entry rendered in Cycles, 5000 samples to get rid of noise around the eye. Texture made in except sky which is random Bing image. Tried to get some eyebrow hair going and I got it in the 3D view but couldn’t get it to render. Maybe next time. Sculpting is getting a little better considering a couple challenges ago I couldn’t even make a hand.

Curious Giant

Having great bushy eyebrows myself I understand your plight! I believe that for cycles hair you need to go to the “Render” tab and change “Supported” to “Experimental”, you should then have an extra panel on the “Particles” tab.

BI, Pure with some color correction, clouds added and touched up in Photoshop.
(Jack’s Discovery!)

Rendered in Cycles, post-processing was done in Photoshop

For high resolution, go to

I was watching a tutorial on cycles hair and got it switched to experimental. I lost it when the video started adding material to the particle system and I could follow along because i was missing some step along the way. I had sculpted in some eyelids but didn’t save before starting on the hair and when I got it so messed up I had to revert back to the save file, there went the eyelids.

Thanks for the input rarebit. Every little thing helps.
