there is lot of it, I want it all, but sometimes, it’s hard to grab… I catch some, hold it tight… but sometimes, lot of it

goes by… can’t be helped. I need bigger arms.

I call it ‘Lonely Guy’.

It features a middle-aged, lonely business man with nobody to share his love with. He wanders the streets, walking

mile-upon-mile, searching for someone who wants his love. It has some props in, which give it a comical edge to it. There are

2 reasons why these were included:

  1. Comical twist.

  2. So you know what he is doing (like an indexical sign in media texts).

It went pretty well. I thought I was going to have lots of trouble with textures. I also didn’t think I would be able to

model the things I did model (e.g man, mountains, tree). I’m generally pleased with it, but I know there is much room for

improvement.

It’s my 3rd render using blender, so don’t expect anything spectacular.

Hmmm… I don’t know why, but my pictures always have that certain ‘look’ to them that’s different from everyone elses. The images just don’t look in the same style at all…

I like them all… But unfortunately I’ve got only one vote… :expressionless:

basse’s is my favorite one… I don’t know why, but the whole idea is really cool…

He not only has managed to make a great scene, but also to capture and describe his emotions…

I think this is true art…

BTW. basse maybe you don’t know it, but there’s nothing wrong with your arms… Love is not trying to get away from you… It’s just that you can’t enclose it into a “bottle”… Love needs a little space to breath and grow, that’s all… Relax and loosen your grab a bit… You’ll find out that you don’t need to try hard to make Love follow you in every step you take… :wink:

I like the feel of Robertt’s entry. Since basse is running away with this one (he always does great work), I’ll focus on the battle for last place.

wow, some very cool concepts displaying a high level of technical proficency, :), the W-C is becoming less a contest of technical skill but rather of conceptualization(sp) , bloody good work guys.
How many of the images in the last few W-C’s are better than posters you see being sold in shops?

Thor I thinks it’s just your lighting… add fill lights or another spot from below maybe?
Oprah was saying that in the studio the lights are slightly pinkish to draw out highlights and tones of blackskin (I wasn’t watching, it was the wife I tells ya)

Anyway, these entries are amazing.

Personally i voted for soni, his pic rocks me with the cel-shading, the style, the feel of it.

Thors was some uber coolness too

Basse’s is great, but soni;s just said “pick me!” more, not to mention bassee is going to get all the votes anyway :slight_smile:

just wondering if the challenge should specify a style, imho toon shading/manga will always lose out to mainstream cg no mater how good it is, I would like to see soni’s image with a bit of rounding, the feet of the girl put me off, the shading is very cool though, enos nice work, I think your host cost you a couple of votes:)
