Entry closes at 22:30 GMT, Monday 14th of May 2018.
(your time & countdown)
“There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun: You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory: After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner picks the theme for next week.”
Please remember to state if your entry is pure, open or non-competing.
For details please check out the: CHALLENGE RULES
For new members: if your entry/post doesn’t show up right away, that might be due to blenderartist’s auto-moderation feature. Your post will show up eventually. However, this can take some time (hours). So, if you are close to the deadline and your entry is caught by moderation, just send me a PM including a link to the image. I’ll try to add it manually.
Btw.: Comments are welcome in both threads (entries/voting). Have fun!
I noticed.
However, I’m not exactly sure how this is currently handled / will be handled in the future. And as it isn’t that much of a problem, I figured, I’ll just wait for things to set. After all, Bart and everyone else working on the migration, have a lot do deal with anyways (for now). (missing posts, clamoring mob, technical difficulties, Liam Neeson, …)
But as soon as the bigger problems have been moved out of the way, I’ll start poking.
Being I won’t have much time to really work on a full scene I figured I would at least do something since I skipped last week.
Non-Competing 128 samples dirt texture is from Textures.Com and the HDR is from HDRIHaven.com
Booger. FlyingBanana you beat me to the punch. Very cool by the way.
I was thinking of something similar and may still go with it.
I have a super busy weekend planned so won’t have much time to build much. Have to burn down my burn pile a little bit so the state (Texas) doesn’t catch on fire. Its a tad large. Have to start designing and building a 12 ft built in cabinet my wife is telling me she needs to continue living (or is it I need to build it so I can keep living?). Have to pour a slab and build a lean to for my firewood and riding mower. I need to design and build a new dragon claw clock as well. The clock mechanisms just arrived.
…or I may live on the edge and just drink a few beers. Toss up if it was up to me but I think the wife may have a slight vote on the decision.
Here is my pure entry. Cycles, 600 samples, the bark texture is from Poliigon.com and the egg one was made procedurally. I used an HDR from HDRIHaven.com for the lighting.
Open entry, Cycles 512 samples, procedural textures + compositing. Reusing the character model in the previous theme (as well as being the continuation to the story on that entry), all other elements are new.
Flower holding sprouting baby seed. Not happy with it at all but no time to work on it any more. I still have to model some dragon columns for my clock design.
Cycles, 128 samples, filmic, hdr lighting and background, flower image from my garden, grass from CG Geek nature asset pack, frame and contrast filter from Corel Paintshop Pro.
